My old aluminum windows were leakiung, causing water damage to my relatively new vonyl sunroom floors. Several of my condo neighbors near Pompano Beach, Florida recommended Brett, the Owner of B & L Windows and Shutters with headquarters in nearby Deerfield Beach, Florida.

Although I interviewed 2 other licensed contractors, I felt more comfortable with Brett. His prices were fair..'in the ballpark' of what we expected.

- When I lived in my native Philadelphia - South Jersey area years ago, I worked for a major contractor, so I knew about standard double hung replacement windows, but not much about mandatory Florida hurricane proof impact windows.

Once we hired Brett, he showed up when promised to take exact measurements for my sunroom windows overlooking a golf course) and the kitchen window.

I also like the fact that once I submitted my application for construction and it was approved by my condo's Board of Directors Brett and his wife Lisa applied for and received City Permits, unlike a lot of 'jack-legs' or unlicensed installers who are notorious because they 'prey' on naive buyers.

The installation was a "major construction job" because Brett and his crew, including Oliver and Zach who were impeccable and cleaned up all debris when done, had to remove-demolish the deteriorating rear rotting wall as well as the ugly, old fashioned, crank-style leaky, 1970's era original jalousie windows, to frame-out and install the new floor to ceiling windows.

- The bottom windows are stationary with 3 'sliders' above which open easily to allow fresh air in via screens. B & L kept its word and it took 1 and 1/2 days for installation as promised.

The Building Code officer arrived as scheduled shortly thereafter, and Lisa had dropped off the proper paperwork, diagrams and permits and every detail was perfect.

I like to deal with local businesses rather than giant corporations and I highly recommend considering getting an estimate from and hiring Brett at B & L Windows and Shutters if you live in Broward County, Florida.

Brett is the owner of the company and gave me a very fair price for hurricane windows and doors. I quoted with 10 (yes 10) different companies and B&L came out with the best price. The installation for my 8 windows (2 of them were the glass block windows), 3 patio doors and 1 front door took 3 days. The 3rd day was a Friday and the inspection was on that Monday. WOW! Talk about a fast and efficient project! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND B&L. The city inspector even commented that they did a great job and asked how I came across them. That speaks volumes in my opinion.
His crew, Grant and Daniel were really friendly, efficient and hard working. They didn't stop until the work they had on their agenda was finished despite the typical South Florida summer thunderstorms.
Brett was present every day working alongside his crew which I was super impressed by (not a lot of owners get down and dirty on the job -- but Brett did. He's a perfectionist).

In a nutshell, I would HIGHLY recommend B&L to my family and friends in a heartbeat!!

Catching up with my Google reviews. We had our windows installed in 2020. I’ll state with all my honesty pros and cons.

Pros: Great quality windows, very good price.

Cons: Once they were done with the job I tried to contact them several times (for a quick fix which was not their fault) and was unable to get any reply. In a nutshell they do a good job but if you need any kind of maintenance or after sales job you’ll have to hire someone else. None of my calls were returned.

If it weren’t for the customer service and post sales I would have given them 5 stars.

Brett really knows what he is doing! He and his crew installed high impact hurricane windows and door last month in my condo. They did a great job!
They were on time, organized, careful with my furniture, walls and floor. They covered everything, even my chandelier! Thought the price was fair for the amount of work. I highly recommend!
